I have been painting nearly 30 years and experienced changes in my style and subject interest as my life situation and experiences have progressed over those years.  However, one thing has remained constant, and that is my sheer joy and pleasure of the artistic experience. I absolutely love the experience of being inspired by a particular subject, impressionistic or abstract, and then translating it onto a canvas or panel using my favorite paint colors, shapes, etc. The technical craft of art is something we artists learn early on in our painting journey. The wonderful variety of materials and fine qualities of paints and tools and teaching provide such rich opportunities for any artists' personal expression.

My medium of choice has always been OIL paint which I experienced as a young child. I enjoy Pastel also especially for painting young children. However, OIL will always be my favored choice of the diverse mediums.

Being an artist is a very personal, enriching, healing, calming and exciting vocation.

Some years ago I began teaching and found it to be immensely enjoyable. I am in awe of the vast individual differences, preferences that artistically talented persons have so innately in their being.  I love to see that expressed in the works of all the artists I know personally, my students and artists I have admired for years.
